Migration to Canada Made Easy with the Express Entry System
Migrating to Canada has become more accessible than ever. With the Express Entry system under Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), skilled professionals can apply for permanent residency and enjoy the opportunity to live and work in Canada. Many skilled professionals seeking promising job opportunities apply for permanent residency under one of the federal economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
Launched in 2015, Canada’s Express Entry is an online immigration system that manages skilled workers’ applications for permanent residency. Designed as a competitive immigration system, it ranks qualified applicants and invites the highest-ranking candidates to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
What is the Express Entry System?
The Express Entry Program (EEP) is a fast-track immigration pathway for skilled professionals seeking Canadian permanent residency. Under this system, applicants are ranked based on selection factors such as age, work experience, educational qualifications, proficiency in English or French, and additional factors like arranged employment and a genuine intent to contribute to a Canadian province’s economy. To be eligible, applicants must score a minimum of 67 points on the Canada points calculator.
How Does the Canada Immigration Express Entry Work?
Step 1: Start by completing an online Express Entry form with details about your nationality, age, language skills, family, education, work experience, and job offers.
Step 2: Prepare all necessary documents, such as language test results and an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA), to ensure you meet the Express Entry eligibility requirements. Once your application is submitted to the pool, you will receive an Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code, which can help you build your resume in the Canada Job Bank.
Step 3: Based on your information, you will be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system.
Step 4: Candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for permanent residency. Upon receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA), you will have 90 days to submit your completed application.
Canada Express Entry Program Eligibility
To be eligible for Express Entry, you must score at least 67 points on Canada’s Express Entry points system, which assesses your age, educational qualifications, work experience, job offers, language skills (English and/or French), and adaptability (your potential to settle in Canada). Points are awarded based on these six selection factors to determine eligibility for the three main federal economic programs. Every two weeks, Express Entry draws are held to select the top-ranking candidates.
Take Advantage of the Express Entry Points Calculator
To determine your eligibility for Canada’s federal economic immigration programs, use the Canada PR points calculator. This tool helps you estimate your score based on the selection factors above. Every two weeks, IRCC holds draws to select applicants with the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.
