Canada CRS Score Calculator 2024
Canada Express Entry – Comprehensive Ranking System
The Comprehensive Ranking System is a points-based system administered by the Canada Express Entry System to choose eligible candidates from the pool of immigration aspirants. The system uses several parameters/factors to evaluate the profile and grant the Invitation to Apply (ITA). These parameters/factors correspond to certain points wherein applicants receive particular points for each factor. The accumulated points are known as the CRS Score of an applicant, and once you calculate the CRS score, it will decide the fate of their immigration.
The Express Entry system conducts draws twice a month to grant invitations to apply (ITA) to the eligible candidates. Each draw declares the minimum CRS Points requirement wherein applicants with threshold CRS points will get the ITA approval. Applicants get the CRS score upon filing the expression of interest in the official CIC account by uploading all the relevant documents under the Canada CRS calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between CRS points and eligibility points?
CRS points are used to select the most suitable candidates for Canadian immigration, considering factors such as age, experience, education, language proficiency, spouse factors, arranged employment, and both foreign and Canadian work or educational experience. On the other hand, eligibility points are part of the preliminary stage required to become eligible for the Canada Express Entry program, based on age, experience, education, language proficiency, and adaptability.
What is the minimum IELTS score required for Canada Express Entry and CRS?
For Canada Express Entry, applicants must achieve a minimum CLB 7 score, meaning at least 6.0 bands in each component of IELTS General (Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking). However, achieving a score above CLB 7 will significantly improve your chances of being selected.
How to Improve CRS Scores?
There are several strategies to enhance your CRS score:
- Reattempt the IELTS exam to improve your language proficiency score, which will increase your CRS points.
- Consider changing the primary applicant or gaining additional points from your spouse’s qualifications.
- Apply for a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which can provide 600 additional CRS points.
- Gain Canadian work experience or education, which will positively impact your CRS.
- Secure a job offer from a Canadian employer, which can add 50 to 200 CRS points to your profile.
What Factors are Considered in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)?
The CRS considers various factors, including age, foreign and Canadian work experience, education (both foreign and Canadian), language proficiency (English or French), arranged employment, spouse qualifications, spousal language proficiency, and certification of qualifications. The higher the points you earn in these factors, the better your chances of being selected through the Express Entry process.
